QUEER LDN, 2023

Limited Edition of 3
Photographs, Colour Matte Paper in Vintage, Gilded Frames, Dimensions Varied

The series depicted is the start of my long-term project, through which I aim to produce an archival documentation that celebrates queer joy in London. I am specifically interested in taking portraits of strangers, capturing the true, magnetic atmosphere of being in a safe space for queer people and seeing them so evidently true to themselves.

A strong influence of my work throughout this project has been the 90’s Club Kid era and the connotations of the word ‘camp’ that commonly describes a flamboyant style, hence the display using vintage, golden, gilded frames.

My documentary photography tends to focus on the queer community, whilst my architectural photography looks at finding the beauty in the details through symmetry and light. In both instances, I look beyond societal standards of beauty and photograph the intricate details of people and places that extenuate the rawness and realities of the subjects.
