Socket Magazine
Volume 2
Evolution is a quality that is hard-wired into the magazine’s nature. It is created by BA Photography Year 2 students, each expressing their individual voice, interests and concerns in this critical and creative playground.
We are delighted to be able to celebrate the new edition of Socket Vo2 with the 21/22 cohort of BA Photography Year 2 students at the School of Art, Architecture and Design, London Metropolitan University. SOCKET Magazine is a platform that grows each year as a physical and an online publication.
This year’s highlights range from work exploring the female gaze to physical interventions on the photographic image, as well as an inquiry into the loneliness faced by elderly people. A new section titled (wo)manifesto is dedicated to spotlighting the disparity between the male and female experience within the photographic industry. We also zoom into the wondrous workings of nature, the evocative and uncanny stage of urban lighting, alongside evoking demons and zombies!
All this is kicked off with fashion editorials echoing photographic eras of the past, and interviews with up-and-coming musicians to create a fantastic source of collective energy and inspiration!
