Atilla Gluck
From the Tulips series, 2018
The series grew into a collection of stills over six months.
Each of the pictures offered a chance to the subjects, tulips, to tell a story.
In fact, the process became similar to an interrogation,
digging for memories that were lost and repressed.
This mini sequence from the series rejects the tradition
of exclusively emphasising beauty and fragility in relation to femininity.
Flowers in these photos are not static objects.
But ever changing instead, moulding to fit into the environment.
It’s a critique against a narrow-focused view of romanticism , exploring potencies that were unseen before.
