I grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana in the United States. My mother is a social worker and in her spare time works at a homeless shelter. To me, she embodies the ideas of strength, compassion, patience, and empowerment. I fell in love with the arts around middle school and I continue to grow and discover what I love with her support.
In response to the Women's History Month, I celebrate some of the qualities I admire in my mum, as I see them in women I know. Here are portraits of my friend, Layal.
