Bruno Ferrer Cortez

Mamá, 2023

This project is about my mum.  Although forever grateful, with the passing of time and life, I have almost forgotten what it felt like going home with my mum after school, waking up on a Saturday morning to the smell of homemade panqueques or the conversations we had while having breakfast.

In this project, I honour her by looking through the prism that my little nephews' lives and childhood have created, allowing me in as an observer of a relationship (grandma and grandson) that reminds me of my childhood and the close, loving relation that a mother and a son can have.

To do this, I have used images both recently taken and from my family archive, and audios of conversations I had with my mum, that I recorded during last Christmas.
