A Space for Change, 2023

In a society where many professions are still traditionally considered predominantly male, and with architecture being part of those, I wanted to highlight the beauty of The London Aquatics Centre, designed in2004 by female world-renowned, award-winning architect, Zaha Hadid. The concept of the centre was inspired by moving water, creating a space to mirror the surrounding riverside landscapes of the Olympic Park. Despite women’s enrolment in architecture schools rising, the number of women working as architects is incredibly low.  I think, it is important to be aware of this kind of information, because as we articulate the reasons behind it, we create a space for a change.
