Everyday Seems Possible, 2021
The photobook Everyday Seems Possible highlights the longing for connection with family. It contains 30 images and texts representing my current situation and the fleeting joys in my life.
This reportage project documents the life of my 9-year-old son Sebastian during the COVID19 pandemic and lockdown in London. It is a reflection on our relationship and a personal observation of the global pandemic and its effects on our lives. It celebrates our perseverance in finding ways to be positive in adversity.
Since I separated from my son’s mother a few years ago, I have not lived with him during the week. Growing up without a father myself motivated me to be there for him. I began to photograph our time together and started to see the photographs I took during our weekends as a reflection of our relationship. However, the lockdown has strengthened our relationship as it has meant that I have spent more time with him. I cherish our time together and wait impatiently until the next time I see him.
These two images are from Sebastian's homework during a school lockdown, 2021
