The last two years have hit everyone as an unwanted memento of life's unexpected turns. Although growth never comes as a linear path, the pandemic has truly raised the bar, pushing creative minds through a fractal maze, in which an intricate set of passages would seemingly lead to nothing but dead ends.
It follows that the road through graduation has been more challenging than ever, for it scattered all students across the globe, diminishing human interaction and mutual exchange of competencies that are hard to replicate in a digital environment.
Nevertheless, we faced the music with a renewed resilience – the lens aligned with our head and our heart. This exhibition is the longed for rendezvous where our individual paths finally converge at a meeting point, and we get the chance to assimilate each other’s experience. It is a miscellaneous expression of the journey so far by the third year students of BA Photography at London Met whose practice ranges from documentary photography to moving image, from street photography, studio portraiture through to artificial space rendering and fine art practices. The multiplicity of approaches and topics tackled reflects the ability the mind has to digress and reach remote places, trespass the four walls that confine it and take the reins of a renewed inspiration, navigating the turbulence of these strange days.
