Blue Intelligence, 2021

Blue Intelligence is another step into the future of technology and how likely it is that our voices will be taken away from us by machines. It was initially inspired by the song NHS by British scene rapper Slowthai who says, “I was in my head, feeling’ dead, feelin’ microwaved’. For me the word microwave presents it perfectly by placing our society onto a turntable on which we revolve into the lines of cyborgs. The use of the colour blue represents intelligence and it’s power. My project explores the purpose of the voice in the rapidly developing technology of voice cloning and questions whether we can notice any difference between human and machine speech.

Originality and futurism and identity deprivation are issues explored throughout my body of work. The aim is to raise awareness especially in musicians whose voices can be easily replicated by machines but also how this technology could be used as potential form of artwork.

Previously I produced projects on identity with @thewillsmusic, identical twin brothers originally from France but based in London, who have let me unveil their musical identity. In my current project I use of sculptures in my photographs made from microwaved parts, as well as the voice as mediums to investigate the idea of identity being taken away from humans by our technological masterpiece, robots.
