Anchor to the other side, 2021

Anchor to the other side explores the idea of communicating with lost loved ones after death. In this project I experiment with shadow play, objects, natural lighting and animals as a source of self-expression and as a way to deal with grief. The project is a mixture of moving image, self-portraits and stills which relate to memories of family members and pets whom I have lost over the last thirteen years. Shadow play in particular helps my grieving process of losing so many loved ones who meant so much to me, especially in those cases when I do not own any items that belonged to them.
