Feared Desire, 2021
This series of images portrays a disturbing and uncomfortable existence in presence of the body that revolves around an exploration of the beautiful and disturbing narratives that have been inspired by dark aesthetics and the gruesome story lines of the Grim fairy tales. The images aim to explore a spectrum of emotions. They draw on people’s fears and use nature in both an uncontrollable and unpredictable way, setting the beauty and elegance of the contemplative figure of a young girl against our primal disgust with insects and bugs as a metaphor for coming to terms with our relationship to our own body.
